Chiropractic is a drug-free, natural way to promote overall health and wellness in infants and children. It has been well-researched and determined to be safe and effective at removing nervous system interference so kids can grow, develop and thrive.
In our current healthcare model, there is a huge disconnect between wellness care and sick care. If babies aren’t sick, they don’t get any kind of care to help them thrive. Chiropractic fills that void by offering care to strengthen the body’s innate healing intelligence so kids can adapt more easily to the stresses of growing up.
At Premier Chiropractic Clinic, we specialize in care for children from newborns up through their teens. Dr. Nick Murtland D.C. is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician and is a local graduate of Lakota West High School. Following graduation, he attended The University of Toledo where he studied pre-med. Upon completion of his bachelors from Toledo he pursued his doctorate at Logan University in St. Louis Missouri and graduated in 2016.
Our nervous system is what allows us to adapt, learn and develop. Children are growing and developing at an incredible rate, and all of the sensory input can be overwhelming if their nervous system isn’t functioning as it should. Chiropractic care removes misalignments in the spine (subluxations) that cause irritation and interference in the nervous system. When these misalignments are corrected, nervous system regulation is normalized, which can help your child get into the parasympathetic state of resting, healing and developing.
Our goal is to help your child create optimal health from within by regulating the nervous system. This way, they can thrive, rather than simply survive.
Based on a consultation with you about your child’s health (going all the way back to your pregnancy) and a thorough examination, Dr. Nick Murtland D.C. will design a gentle care plan specifically for your child. The adjustments are very light force, just using the fingertips with about the same pressure you’d use to check a tomato for ripeness.
If kids are nervous, Dr. Nick lets them set the tone. His experience has helped to give him first-hand knowledge to the many injuries that can occur, what treatments may be necessary, and methods to prevent further injuries.
